The Hendricks 55 is a Marathon Class A offshore racing powerboat. Designed by Adam Younger, built here at Ross-Smith Marine in Lymington.
We have been involved with the project from the very start making all of the plugs, moulds and then the production mouldings. We now have a full set of mould tooling to produce production boats, with or without the distinctive wings.
We rigged the boat, with all systems and power units, first with twin Ilmor 750 engines and latterly with a pair of the new Mercury Racing QC4V engines of about 1400 HP each running into Mercury 6 outdrives.
She has been designed as a long range, rough water craft; with full standing headrooom in the bow and a voluminous, 6 or more, seat cockpit she would have many uses as both a private yacht and for military or commercial applications.
We have alternative styling options, from Andrew Trujillo, some with the "wings" clipped for a smoother sleeker look.
There is certainly nothing else similar available on the market at the moment and we will soon be embarking on both a racing and record breaking programme to prove the concept.
